It is made from African Blackwood with yellow gold fittings, amber pommel stone and Damascus steel blade. The gold is hallmarked 9 kt yellow gold fittings crafted by local jewellers ‘goldleaf’. African blackwood has a deep, rich black colour with occasional streaks of dark brown which makes it one of the most visually striking woods available. It is incredibly hard and resistant to wear, making it perfect for items that need to last a long time,, The wood has a smooth and fine texture, allowing for detailed shaping and a polished finishes. This has been polished with bees wax to bring out the contrasting colours and a natural lustre.
